Depending on the capacity of the load you are trying to haul and the levelness of the ground you are dumping on could help determine if a frame style dump or a frameless dump would be better for your operation. An end dump trailer unloads by lifting its dump box into the air and dumping from the rear. Often constructed with aluminum, you'll tend to see these trailers to have higher sides than belly or side dumps which allow for a greater capacity to handle larger load and rough materials. Used best with road/building construction and hauling agricultural materials. Semi Dumps typically range from sizes of 26' to 40'.

Frameless Dumps: Are lighter in empty weight allowing for heavier loads, and are longer than framed dumps which means they require more space for dumping. On a frameless style dump you really have to make sure that you are on pretty level ground and loaded pretty even. Frameless dump trailers range from 36'-40' in length

Frame style Dumps are shorter and more efficient for jobs that require you to navigate tight spaces. The most common size of framed end dumps are 34' in length but you can get down to 22'.  These trailers are a lot sturdier on uneven ground and when loaded unlevel.
